two cats that will be compatible with you, your family and each other. The Dorothy Fund will pay $80 of the adoption fee for
the second cat.
How PurrKit adopted Dorothy
One day a stray cat wandered onto Dorothy's property in New Hampshire. That day, although Dorothy didn't know it, the cat decided that Dorothy was her new person. A bit grudgingly Dorothy fed her. Not long after, Dorothy took the nameless cat to the Vet's for a rabies shot and to be spayed. By then the cat was sure that her plan to adopt Dorothy had worked. Eventually the cat gained a name “PurrKit” or “Purrky” for short. Dorothy and her husband were retired. When Dorothy went on daily walks to keep up her strength, Purrkit, who had decided she was an indoor cat, would often follow along. In the cold dark winters of New Hampshire, Dorothy's husband would get out the snow blower and create walking paths around the yard so that Dorothy could continue her exercise. Even in the cold, Purrkit would escort Dorothy through the snow. Dorothy may have saved Purrkit from a rugged life or unhappy death in the New Hampshire woods. But Purrkit provided companionship and amusement to Dorothy and her husband for many years. It was a good partnership for all concerned.

The Dorothy Fund has been established in honor of Dorothy and Purrkit to help adult cats find
new forever homes. The fund pays a portion of the adoption fee for senior citizens who adopt
a cat over the age of three, or for any family who adopts 2 adult cats over the age of three.
