Teen Programs

Teens Helping Pets

Teens Helping Pets is a dedicated group of teen volunteers who meet twice each month to develop outreach events and fundraisers for Lowell Humane Society. The group is run by the teens, with a shelter staff member acting as an adult adviser. Our THP group has run dog wash fundraisers, bake sales, participates in parades and MUCH MORE!

We have had so much interest in the program that we are limiting to 15 members this year so the kids will really get a great experience. Teens Helping Pets members are required to attend our 2 monthly meetings (held the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, 4pm-5:30pm at the shelter) and cover one weekly afternoon shift-from whatever time they get here until-4pm- or a weekend shift 2pm-4pm.

We will be holding an orientation for the 2014-2015 Teens Helping Pets program on Sunday, September 7th at 4-5:30pm at the shelter. The program is very popular and limited to 15 members. We ask that a parent/guardian attend the first 30 minutes of this first meeting to meet the group advisers and learn about how the program will run.

You MUST reserve a spot by emailing info@lowellhumanesociety.org

Please RSVP for each teen who would like to attend the orientation and be added to the Teens Helping Pets program for 2014-2015.
