There are a variety of ways you can volunteer your time to help the animals at The Lowell Humane Society. We utilize the help of volunteers seven (7) days a week. All volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation before starting . Please check out our brochure for information on our volunteer program: CLICK HERE FOR PRINTABLE VOLUNTEER BROCHURE
Volunteer Orientations: We hold our volunteer orientations on the second Sunday of every month from 3:00 pm until approximately 5:00 pm.(However, the April Volunteer Orientation will be held on Wednesday April 9th from 6pm-8pm) Please fill out a volunteer application (CLICK HERE) and waiver (CLICK HERE) and bring it with you to the orientation. However, there is no December orientation.
If you are interested in serving court-ordered community service hours, please note that community service hours can only be served during the hours of 8 am-12 pm.
It is VERY important that you arrive to the orientation ON TIME. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will NOT be allowed into the orientation. Please email email@example.com to RSVP for the next orientation.
Please also be aware that space is limited per orientation. We are a small facility and can only fit a limited number of people in for each orientation. It is recommended that you RSVP early for your desired orientation or you may be required to attend another session.
Note: if you are under the age of 18, you will need to have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Also, you must be over the age of 16 to volunteer at the shelter. There are other opportunities for those under the age of 16. Check out our Kids Programs and Teen Programs pages for more information.
