Meet Lola, a five-month-old small mixed breed who was surrendered into our care through our friends at a local emergency hospital. Lola had become lethargic, not her bouncy puppy self, and had been having difficulty walking causing her to trip and bump her head on the floor. She needed blood-work, supportive care and an ultrasound to get to the bottom of what ails her. She was hospitalized with one of our partner veterinarians and appointments for an ultrasound were made with a specialist. The ultrasound confirmed what we feared- Lola is suffering from a liver shunt and will need surgery. This surgery alone will cost close to $8,000.
You can help Lola by making a donation toward her care or creating a facebook fundraiser to help pay for her surgery- just be sure to mention Lola in your fundraising page.
