Lowell Humane Society announced today that Interim ED, Crystal Arnott, has officially been appointed to the permanent role of Executive Director at the shelter. As a long-time past employee and former volunteer at the shelter, Crystal brings 14-years of trusted experience, enthusiasm, and leadership to LHS. She brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to oversee shelter operations and a fresh perspective to develop LHS programs and services.
Formerly, Crystal had been serving as Interim Executive Director after long-time Executive Director, Jill O’Connell, moved on from her role after 13-years of dedicated and passionate service. Since 2008, Jill had been the driving force behind LHS’s substantial growth and critical success as an organization committed to the care and protection of animals in the Greater Lowell region.
Now, Crystal looks forward to applying her vast knowledge of the animal welfare sector towards furthering Lowell Humane Society’s mission of preventing cruelty, providing care to homeless pets, and improving the quality of life for both animals and the community who cares for them.
Crystal shares, “It’s been exciting to see the field of animal welfare change over the years, and I’m excited to be a part of expanding our available services to better serve the community!”
