Due to the recent turn of events regarding COVID-19, we are putting some precautions in place. These guidelines adhere to social distancing recommendations by the CDC. For the time being we are implementing the following protocol to limit the number of people in our shelter at any given time.

•Surrenders: If you need to give up your pet please contact us to schedule an appointment. We ask that if the need to surrender is not urgent, please hold off during this period so that our small facility can respond to emergency situations that arise in times of crisis like these.

•Adoptions: Please call ahead to discuss adoptable pets with a staff member. We will determine if your household may be a good match and make an appointment for you to come in to meet the pet.

•Donations: Pet food (canned and dry food, sealed in original packaging) is needed more than ever as we support our community, many who may find purchasing pet food outside their means in this difficult time. You can find these items on our wishlist and have them shipped right to our door. We are temporarily NOT accepting gently used supplies/softgoods (blankets, towels, toys, etc). While we appreciate your support, we are unable to accept these items.

•Pet Food Pantry: If your family is experiencing financial hardship and needs pet food, please call the shelter to schedule a time to pick up pet food.

•Orientations and Events: Cancelled. Going forward all new volunteer orientations are canceled. We will update our website as this crisis evolves.

•Visiting the shelter: Currently, we are restricting casual visits to the shelter in order to limit exposure. Adoptions and surrenders will be by appointment only and visitor access will be restricted.

We recommend that all pet owners prepare a plan for your pets in case you become ill. If you have the room in your home, please consider reaching out to friends and family to provide support for their pets in the event of illness or hospitalization.
