Reduced Cost Spay/Neuter and Vaccination Program for Local Pit Bulls
The Pit Pals program was created by the MSPCA to address the high rates of homelessness and euthanasia of Pit Bull and Pit Bull mixes in Massachusetts. There are currently not enough homes in our community for the numbers of Pit bulls who are brought into shelters and animal control facilities. The Pit Pals program offers a responsible solution to reducing the population of Pit Bulls to a manageable number through offering affordable spaying and neutering.
The Pit Pals Program offers direct benefits to dogs and their owners. Dog owners are required by law to have their animals vaccinated against rabies. Spaying and neutering your dog prevents testicular and ovarian cancer and also may help to alleviate unwanted behaviors such as marking, roaming, aggression towards other dogs and leg humping.
